Biography

I am Mamadou Tiefin Coulibaly, a dedicated GIS professional with a Master’s degree in Remote Sensing and GIS and a Bachelor’s degree in Earth Sciences. Additionally, I hold a Geographic Information Systems Graduate Certificate from the Centre of Geographic Sciences (COGS).

My skills include advanced proficiency in Esri applications and mobile GIS solutions. I have a strong background in Python, JavaScript (HTML/CSS), SQL, PL/SQL, and ArcGIS Arcade, along with robust database management competencies with PostgreSQL/PostGIS and Oracle Spatial. Throughout my career, I've integrated GIS data into workflows, reduced processing time, enhanced data accuracy, and conducted comprehensive spatial analyses

I am fluent in English and French, with strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities. As a student, I was awarded the Esri Canada Centres of Excellence Student Associate prize. I am passionate about leveraging geospatial technologies to automate processes, optimize database performance, and create high-quality cartographic products and data visualizations.

    During my tenure, I processed and analyzed time series radar and optical satellite imagery to monitor the evolution and reconstruct the impact of the Tantallon and Shelburne wildfires in Nova Scotia. Additionally, I conducted comprehensive wildfire simulations using Prometheus and 3D Wave models to evaluate their accuracy in replicating the fires under identical weather conditions. My efforts provided critical insights that enhanced the accuracy and reliability of the 3D Wave model.
